Spring has arrived at Walden Pond in Concord, MA. And with spring comes more restrictions at the pond. I can remember the days when you could swim anywhere you chose and there was a beach surrounding the entire pond. These days swimming is restricted to specific areas and the beach is about 25% of what it once was. Maybe in 15 years things will be back to the way they once were. If you find yourself at Walden this summer see if you can find the rock pile. Its about 20-30 feet off shore and if the water is at the right height you can stand on it with your head above water. Here is a clue, its by the bend.
